A SECTION OF CATHOLIC Faithfuls led by Catechist Dominic Mbiu of Mbitini Parish and Jeremana Mithikwa 103 Years old are on their way to Uganda bon foot to commemorate the Uganda Martyrs. Their Journey started on Thursday 3rd May 2018 at Mwingi Good Shephered Church and ends on 1st June 2018 in Namulongo  Uganda. The Uganda Martyrs are a group of 23 Anglican and 22 Catholic converts to Christianity in the historical Kingdom  of Buganda, now part of Uganda who were executed between 31 January 1885 and 27 January 1887. They were killed on orders of Mwanga  II , (King) of Buganda. The deaths took place at a time when there was a three-way religious struggle for political influence at the Buganda royal court.
