36 Years of operation comes to a bitter end. Shade hotel is no more. The proprietor of the famous Shade hotel along Ngong Road has been evicted following what has been claimed to be a rental dispute. The land on which Shade hotel operated is owned by a family led by a woman by the name Serah Mutuu. Eviction of the hotel was executed yesterday 28th January 2018 by Daystar Auctioneers following a court order issued on 24th October 2017. The Proprietor Mr. Thairu claims Serah Mutuu and other family members want to lease the property to another tenant at a higher rent.
