36 Years of operation comes to a bitter end. Shade hotel is no more. The proprietor of the famous Shade hotel along Ngong Road has been evicted following what has been claimed to be a rental dispute. The land on which Shade hotel operated is owned by a family led by a woman by the name Serah Mutuu. Eviction of the hotel was executed yesterday 28th January 2018 by Daystar Auctioneers following a court order issued on 24th October 2017. The Proprietor Mr. Thairu claims Serah Mutuu and other family members want to lease the property to another tenant at a higher rent. Boyfriend to Citizen TV journalist Jacque Maribe , Joseph Kuria Irungu, popularly known as Jowie, has been arrested in connection with the brutal murder of Ms Monica Kimani in Kilimani. He was arrested as suspect to the murder as police could not corroborate a shooting incident he reported at Lang'ata Police Station. In the report, Irungu claims he had been attacked and shot at the gate of the apartment along Dennis Pritt road where Monica lived last week on Thursday. 28-year-old Monica Kimani was found dead in the apartment the same day she got back from South Sudan. Her brother found her lifeless body in the bath tub with her throat slit. Police could not verify the shooting incident as no cartridges were found at the scene.
