Machakos POs did NOT secure Gubernatorial Ballot Papers
Stephen Okoth,, Boniface Mutungi and Cecilia Mbula were on Monday arraigned in a court of Law over breach of electoral Laws in Machakos County.
A Machakos county employee , deputy head teacher and a second year university student were charged with presenting unsecured used and unused ballot papers to a Constituency returning officer in Machakos County.
The charge sheet does not specify which seat among the six contested in the poll was affected but its widely believed that it was that of the Gubernatorial position. This comes at a time when Wavinya Ndeti's case against the IEBC and Dr. Alfred Mutua is set to begin today the 4th October 2017. Hon Wavinya has cited numerous irregularities in the just concluded August elections and argues that Mutua was illegally declared the winner by IEBC.
The three denied the charges before Senior Principal Magistrate Desdaris Orimba and were released on a Ksh. 300,000 bond each or Ksh. 100,000 cash bail

The charge sheet does not specify which seat among the six contested in the poll was affected.... the rest ni projo tu just because Mutua has a case in court.
ReplyDeleteAnd how many are those P.O's, 3? estimate each polling station had 700 voters, so 2100 votes, zote hata pea Mutua. Hard to crack that number of Mutua.
Okay charge them on neglection of duty, so can 3 polling stations cause a repeat in Machakos? I doubt it.
My opinion.
Electoral offences in a polling station can lead to nullification of results in a County or even the whole country.
