Members of Machakos County Assembly snub Wavinya Ndeti's Thanks Giving Ceremony.

Members of Parliament from Ukambani on Saturday 28th September 2019  snubbed a thanks giving ceremony for KEWI Board Chair Wavinya Ndeti as the political disquiet over her appointment intensified.

In an apparent protest, none of the 52 elected members of the Machakos County Assembly, the three Ukambani Senators, the three Ukambani Governors, the three Ukambani Women Reps turned up for the event at her Kinanie Home to celebrate Wavinya's appointment to the Board of Kenya Water Institute.

The low-key event was, however, attended by ferried residents of Mlolongo and Athiriver wards.

Former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka led the delegation of former legislators including Former Mp Reuben Ndolo, Former DG Mueke, Former Senator Muthama Nduya who were the only notable Leaders who showed up in the much publicized event.

All the Machakos Legislators with the exception of the host MP Patrick Makau subbed the ceremony. Robert Mbui (Kathiani), Stephen Mutinda Mule (Matungulu), Fabian Muli (Kangundo) Victor Munyaka (Machakos Town), Rachel Nyamai (Kitui South), Joshua Mwalyo (Masinga), Charles Kilonzo (Yatta), Kamene Kasimbi (Macahakos), Florence Mwangangi the Machakos County Speaker and all the MCAs including Majority Leader Hon. King'ang'i were the notable absentees by virtue of belonging to Wavinya's Wiper party.

Mrs. Wavinya Oduwole was accompanied to the ceremony by her three children and a small section of former allies to celebrate the third anniversary of her late husband Henry Oduwole.

Some MCA's who spoke to the editor said there was nothing to celebrate in her appointment because she wasted their time for close to two years with endless court battles against Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua, this in return made them lose popularity in their areas because Alfred Mutua managed to stimulate a smearing campaign against them. Online pundits say all the region’s MPs and MCA's can’t be wrong.

The widespread boycott has sent a clear message about the County's stand on the popularity of former Kathiani MP Wavinya Ndeti.
