KMA NEW HEADQUATER IN MOMBASA IS 86 PERCENT COMPLETE

The construction of the Sh.1.8 billion new Kenya Maritime Authority (KMA) headquarters building in Mombasa Island has reached 86 percent completion. This was revealed by Transport Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) Wavinya Ndeti when she toured the project site at Mbaraki area of the coastal city. The CAS who was on a supervision tour of the facility said she was satisfied with the project's progress saying that the government is committed to the prosperity and development of the blue economy sector. The 15-storey iconic complex billed as the tallest building in Mombasa and whose construction began in February 2017, was supposed to have been completed by September 2019. However, the project was delayed because of “some technical issues’ according to the CAS who said the issues are being addressed. ‘The government and contractor are working round the clock to ensure speedy completion of the project’ she said.
