The construction of the Sh.1.8 billion new Kenya Maritime Authority (KMA) headquarters building in Mombasa Island has reached 86 percent completion. This was revealed by Transport Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) Wavinya Ndeti when she toured the project site at Mbaraki area of the coastal city. The CAS who was on a supervision tour of the facility said she was satisfied with the project's progress saying that the government is committed to the prosperity and development of the blue economy sector. The 15-storey iconic complex billed as the tallest building in Mombasa and whose construction began in February 2017, was supposed to have been completed by September 2019.
