Boyfriend to Citizen TV journalist Jacque Maribe , Joseph Kuria Irungu, popularly known as Jowie, has been arrested in connection with the brutal murder of Ms Monica Kimani in Kilimani. He was arrested as suspect to the murder as police could not corroborate a shooting incident he reported at Lang'ata Police Station. In the report, Irungu claims he had been attacked and shot at the gate of the apartment along Dennis Pritt road where Monica lived last week on Thursday. 28-year-old Monica Kimani was found dead in the apartment the same day she got back from South Sudan. Her brother found her lifeless body in the bath tub with her throat slit. Police could not verify the shooting incident as no cartridges were found at the scene. MACHAKOS COUNTY  speaker Florence Mwangangi trashed  Alfred Mutua's intention to retain his County Executive Committee (CEC) members. Mwangangi asked the governor to swiftly nominate and present to the assembly ten names of county ministers for approval as required by the law. She said the governor's failure to constitute a legitimate board of county executive committee members has hampered development in Machakos. The Machakos Assembly has been at the forefront in pushing for meaningful development in the county. Several Machakos MCAs have condemned Governor Alfred Mutua for allegedly attacking Deputy President William Ruto. Led by Kangundo Central MCA Moses Musyoka, they said Mutua should stop dragging Ruto into county politics. “We condemn in the strongest terms possible the recent unwarranted and misdirected attacks by Mutua against MCAs and Ruto, which the "former" Governor has been orchestrating directly, by innuendos or through proxies," Musyoka said in a statement issued at the assembly’s premises in Machakos town on Monday. "The former Governor has made wild allegations that MCAs have received what he calls blood money from the Deputy President purporting to frustrate his 2022 bid for the presidency." WHY MACHAKOS Universal Health Coverage - a program of the National Government funded by WorldBank might terribly fail before its inception.   1. In a PDF document circulated on MCcP colours elaborating on M-UHC, on point 6, Alfred Mutua declares that he will also start a Mutua Care Health program that will run concurrently with Universal Health Coverage program that is funded by the World bank. 2. The PDF document does not inform how the County Government of Machakos is prepared to support the program. I.e. ~What is the budget allocation if any?  ~Any plans to absorb new Doctors and health workers to ensure efficient service delivery to attend to the most likely increased  number of patients?  ~ Any partnerships with MEDS to improve on pharmaceutical supplies.
